Buffalo Bills' Robert Eddins rises on the depth chart
Robert Eddins knows enough not to go thinking his life just got easier with the Buffalo Bills, now that Shawne Merriman has been released.

And he certainly knows he can't go perusing the Internet to gaze at depth charts for the Bills defensive line.

It may look nice and feel nice to see his name second behind Mario Williams, as it appears on BuffaloBills.com. But the reality is: It may not mean much.

Unless Eddins continues to perform well in practice and in the preseason games — the next big test is Saturday night at Ralph Wilson Stadium against the Pittsburgh Steelers — nothing is ever certain.
