Flyers' Simmonds agrees to 6-year extension
After striking out on signing big-name free agents all summer long, the Flyers have opted to make some of their young talented right wingers a whole lot richer.

First Jakub Voracek and now Wayne Simmonds.

Coming off a career season, Simmonds agreed to a six-year contract extension late Tuesday night, TSN's Bob McKenzie reported. The new deal begins in 2013-14 and is believed to be worth around $4 million annually, McKenzie wrote.

Simmonds, 23 later this month, is entering the final season of a two-year, $3.5-million deal that he signed shortly after being traded from the Los Angeles Kings to the Flyers in a June 2011 swap that sent Mike Richards to the West Coast.
