Cameron Maybin was diagnosed with bursitis in the area around his left biceps/shoulder, according to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com.

RotoTimes.com: Dr. James Andrews gave a second opinion on Monday after doctors had diagnosed Maybin with inflammation last week. Andrews found no significant damage in the shoulder either, and Maybin should be back to baseball activities in about a week.

Cameron Maybin will see a specialist to have his shoulder examined at some point over the next few days, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

RotoTimes.com: He hasn't played in the minors since Thursday. It's worth noting that he had surgery to repair a partially torn labrum in November, so hopefully he hasn't suffered a setback.

As expected, the Marlins demoted outfielder Cameron Maybin to Triple-A New Orleanson Thursday.

RotoTimes.com: We heard on Tuesday that he would likely get sent down soon to accrue regular playing time, so here it is. With the call up of uber-prospect Mike Stanton, Maybin has riding the pine and he's a guy that needs to play every day. Stanton's value gets a bump here and Maybin's becomes nonexistent for the time being.

The Palm Beach Post reports that Cameron Maybin may get demoted to the minor leagues in the very near future.

RotoTimes.com: Team president Larry Beinfest hinted at the move, and it makes sense that Maybin go down to play every day. He had been riding the pine since June 1st due to the arrival of super prospect Mike Stanton. "It's a tough situation and he has handled it well," said Beinfest. "I think we need to get Cameron playing and playing every day. I'm not sure that's going to happen right now, but he's definitely in our future."

The Marlins are going with the same lineup on Wednesday that they went with on Tuesday, meaning Cameron Maybin is again on the bench, according to the Miami Herald's Clark Spencer.

RotoTimes.com: We don't expect either Mike Stanton or Cody Ross to rest more than once a week, and the same goes for Chris Coghlan if he continues to stay hot. That means Maybin will only be playing roughly three games per week. At this point he clearly should not be in your lineup, and probably not even owned.
