The Chargers have acquired Marcus Mason off waivers from Washington, according to Kevin Acee's (San Diego Union-Tribune) twitter page.

RotoTimes.com: The Chargers need depth at running back after letting LaDainian Tomlinson go, and Mason has some upside after averaging 4.0 yards per carry behind a shoddy offensive line in Washington in 2009.

Marcus Mason carried the ball six times for 32 yards and caught one pass for nine yards in Week 14.

RotoTimes.com: Mason averaged 5.3 yards per carry, but newly elected starter Quinton Ganther was the story in this game. Although Ganther gained just 50 yards on 14 carries, he got all the goal-line work, punching in two one-yard scores. Despite his strong average, Mason won't hold any fantasy value unless something happens to Ganther.

The Redskins have re-signed running back Marcus Mason, according to NFL.com's Jason La Canfora.

RotoTimes.com: The move was necessitated by injuries to Ladell Betts and Clinton Portis. Suddenly, Rock Cartwright isn't a hand-cuff, but actually has one himself.
October 20, 2009
Marcus Mason has been released by the Redskins.

RotoTimes.com: Mason was rumored to be a potential goal-line back in Washington this preseason, but the role never materialized. He finishes his 2009 Redskins year with 19 yards on six carries.
September 8, 2009
Despite rumors to the contrary, Marcus Mason is not in line for any goal line carries with the Redskins this season, according to the Washington Post.

RotoTimes.com: Mason, if he's even active, will be used almost exclusively on special teams. Clinton Portis is still likely to get the bulk of the Skins' goal line carries in 2009.
